Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
Peel, core and slice the apples. Put in a large bowl and mix with the sugar, cornflour, cinnamon and lemon juice. Then set aside.
Roll out one half of the dough on a lightly floured work surface. Put in a greased cake tin * and gently press the dough. Pierce the soil several times with a fork and then fill with the apples.
Now roll out the other half of the dough, cut into strips and place on top of the filling to create a grid pattern (or optionally cover with the rolled out dough as a whole *). Then cut off the overhanging dough and press the edges slightly.
(Optional) From the leftover dough you can now make decorations for the cake. To make the remaining dough into a ball, roll out again and cut out the desired motifs with a cookie cutter. Then put on the cake and press something.
Brush the surface of the cake with some vegetable milk / cream or melted coconut oil / butter and sprinkle with a little brown sugar.
Bake the cake for about 50-60 minutes until golden brown. While covering only the sides or the entire surface with aluminum foil, the cake should become too dark when baking.
Then cool the apple pie.
Serve with a scoop of vegan ice cream and extra syrup if you like!
