What you need for the sauce:
  • 1/2 cup tamari/soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 inch piece of ginger peeled and grated
  • 2 garlic cloves peeled and grated

For the tofu:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 F, cut tofu into 8 slabs width wise, cut slabs in half, then slice halves into triangles.
  2. Place slices on a kitchen towel, with another towel on top, then gently place a heavy pan on top of that to squeeze out the extra water for 10min. Your tofu will thank you and be more tasty.
  3. Place tofu pieces on a parchment lined baking sheet and brush tofu with the tamari until coated on all sides.
  4. Bake for 15-20 min gently flipping half way.
  5. While Tofu is baking make the sauce. Whisk together all the ingredients in a small sauce pan over medium heat 2-3 min.
  6. Pour the yummy sauce over baked tofu, and mix it up with the rest of your dish. Enjoy!
